Crow Indian Reservation, Pryor, Montana
Located in the heart of the American West, the Crow Indian Reservation is the location of one of the richest coal deposits in the U.S. And yet, in spite of the wealth of the land, the Native American population living there struggles with major problems of depression, unemployment, poverty, and substance abuse. Sixty percent live below the national poverty line. When your group steps into this culture, you will find a people rich with tradition and history, with a strong commitment to the family and the tribe. More than a trip, this experience will offer your group a great chance to come along side their Native brothers and sisters in Christ, and in the context of a wide range of service and evangelistic opportunities, experience God and Kingdom work in ways that will widen and deepen their own Christian journey.

Day 1: Your group will arrive in Billings, Montana and head to the Crow Indian Reservation, located 30 miles away. Depending on the time of the year and what level your group wants to experience, they may stay in a local church in Pryor, or on a working ranch nearby, or in teepees if they choose the cultural immersion experience.
Day 2-6: Depending on the purpose of the trip, your group will be involved in one of the following ministry opportunities:
Level 1: There is much that can be done in terms of improving the quality of life on the reservation. This trip is primarily a service week where your group will have an opportunity as servants to simply do what needs to be done. . . whether painting a church, refurbishing a house, or assisting in other physical tasks needing to be completed.
Level 2: God continues to build His kingdom through vibrant local churches on the reservation. Your group at this level will get to participate in that through targeted outreaches such as vacation Bible school, a youth leadership conference, or a Kid’s Club.
Level 3: In a unique and challenging cultural immersion experience, your group will step back in time and experience the Native American culture up close and personal and at the same time, struggle with their own cultural biases and values. During that week, a Christian Crow Indian will take your group through a process of understanding their own values, how God is working in a different culture than their own, and challenging their own prejudices and stereotypes.
