Amsterdam to the Alps - 10 Days
Day 1
Journey to Europe. Board your overnight flight and arrive in Amsterdam on the following morning.
Day 2
Visit the Dutch flower market, the Royal Palace, and Dam Square. Tour the home of Anne Frank and the adjoining museum. Optional evening at the beach on the Dutch coast.
Day 3
Day trip to Zaanse Schans, a 17th-century Dutch village. Visit Dutch windmills, a wooden shoe factory and a Dutch cheese factory!
Day 4
Day tour to The Hague, Holland’s seat of government and residence of the royal family. Optional tours of the parliament buildings, the royal palaces, and the Mauritshauis.
Day 5
Travel to Germany. Optional tour of Heidelberg’s medieval castle containing some of the most famous ruins in all of Europe! Later in the day we will travel east to Rothenberg. Free time for exploring and shopping in Germany’s best medieval-walled town. Evening tour along the ancient ramparts.
Day 6
In the morning depart for the Bavarian Alps. We will stop along the way to tour the Dachau concentration camp. Free time in the evening to explore Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Day 7
Morning hike into Partnachlam Gorge. Tour the Olympic Stadium in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the site of the 1936 Olympic Winter Games. Dinner with a Bavarian music and dancing performance.
Day 8
Morning cogwheel train ride up the Zugspitze, the tallest peak in the Germany Alps. Ride by cable car to the summit and return to Lake Eibsee.
Depart for Austria and our Austrian Alp panorama tour.
Afternoon tour of Mad King Ludwig’s castle Neuschwanstein. Tour the Neuschwanstein Castle and have dinner near the castle before returning to Garmische.
Day 9
Morning departure for Munich, the largest city in Bavaria.Visit the Hofbrau Haus, Marienplatz, and the Viktualienmarkt.
Day 10
After nine unforgettable days, depart for home from Munich.
