El Corazòn de Mèxico - 6 Days
Day 1
Fly into Mexico City. After orientation, take a driving tour of the city: Paseo de la Reforma (Monument Corridor), Zona Rosa, Plaza de las Tres Culturas. Bellas Artes (Grand Opera House), Alameda park. Dinner in Coyocán.
Day 2
Enjoy fabulous Mexico City! Visit a wide range of important cultural and historical sites, including the following: El Zócalo area (National Plaza), Templo Mayor (Excavations of Aztec temples), National Palace grounds, Cathedral, Chapultepec Castle, Historical Museum, Monument to the Ninos Heroes, Angel Monument, and the US Embassy. In the evening, we will have dinner in hip Zona Rosa with some time for shopping!
Day 3
Today we make the journey to Querétaro. Visit the Anthropology Museum, Chapultepec Park, and Teotihuacan (1,500 year old pyramid city). Climb the 3rd largest ancient pyramid in the world! Later in the day we will have dinner in El Centro Querétaro. Explore the shops, cafes, and colonial architecture in the area.
Day 4
Continue to explore the relaxing city of Queretaro. Zenea Garden, Plaza de la Corregidora, Plaza de Armas, Santa Cruz convent, and Los Arcos (Aqueduct) are all stops we will make. After another dinner in El Centro we will take a night tour of plazas and cathedrals.
Day 5
Today we take a little side trip by bus to travel in the surrounding area. We will visit Cerro do las Campanas (site of Maximillian execution) and then continue to Bernal, where we will take a hike up Bernal’s monolithic peak overlooking the quaint village below. Hike back down to the village for snacks and shopping and then bus to Tequisquiappan. Dinner in Tequisquiappan.
Day 6
Bus to Mexico City (3 hours) to catch our afternoon flight home.
