France and Spain - 10 Days
Day 1
Journey to Europe. Board your overnight flight and arrive in Paris on the following morning. Your tour guide will meet you upon arrival in Paris.
Day 2
After checking into our hotel we will visit the historic Notre Dame cathedral. Opt to climb to the top of the tower and explore the Parisian Archaeological Crypts. After our visit inside the cathedral we will visit the Square Jean XXIII and the Jewish Deportation Memorial.
In the afternoon tour the Latin Quarter and the Boulevard Saint Michel. Free time for shopping and visiting the Pantheon or a stroll through the Luxembourg Gardens.
Day 3
Today we will visit Place de la Concorde and have lunch on the Avenue des Champs Elysees the “triumphal way”. Later we will view Napoleon’s Arc de Triomphe and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Afternoon tour of the Louvre and the Jardin des Tuileries. Spend the afternoon exploring this vast collection including the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and many other astounding works of art.
Day 4
In the morning we will head to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a panoramic view of the ‘City of Love’. Free time exploring the Tower and the youthful Trocadero.
In the afternoon we will visit the Neo-Romanesque Sacre Couer cathedral and view Paris from above. Free time to mingle with the artists in the Montmartre.
Day 5
Overnight train or fly to Madrid, Spain!
Day 6
After checking into our hotel we will enjoy a guided walking tour of Madrid that will include the Puerta del Sol and the Plaza de Espana with the monuments to Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. We will also view the historic Plaza Mayor, the Parliament, Oriente Square, and the Alcala Gate.
Day 7
Today we will view the 18th-century Royal Palace and visit the Prado Museum which houses many works of renowned European artists, including Goya, Velazquez, and El Greco. Free time for shopping and exploring Madrid on your own. In the evening, opt for a Flamenco dance performance.
Day 8
This morning we will journey west to Segovia. Visit the Roman aqueduct and visit Queen Isabella’s fairytale Alcazar. In the evening travel to Salamanaca.
Day 9
Today we will tour Salamanaca, the Spanish capital of culture for 2002! The remains of the Romans can still be seen in the cathedrals, plaza, and the famous Salamanaca University. In the evening return to Madrid.
Day 10
After an unforgettable journey through France and Spain we will board our return flight home from Madrid.
