Costa Rican Adventure - 10 Days
Whitewater Rafting, Swimming, Horseback Riding, Ziplining, Sunning, and Learning in the Tropics
Day 1
Arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica and check into the hotel. After orientation, explore the city of San Jose.
Day 2
Full day of outdoor adventure. Wake up early for a full day of white water rafting on the Pacuare, a challenging river through the rain forest where we will see abundant wildlife and learn about the local ecosystem. This will be a day to remember!
Day 3
After breakfast, we will travel to Fortuna and Mt. Arenal, one of the world’s most active volcanoes. Along the way stop by Zarcero to visit the renowned church located there. In the evening enjoy the natural hot springs at the foot of the volcano. On a clear night, we will get to see the mighty fireworks of Arenal!
Day 4
Today we get to go horseback riding trip the rainforest. Also, take your turn flying high through the forest canopy on ziplines!
Days 5, 6
Depart Fortuna and travel by jeep, then boat, and jeep again to the Monteverde Mountain Cloud Forest reserve. Monteverde is one of the most interesting destinations in all of Costa Rica because of its natural beauty, lush rainforest and plentiful wildlife. While there, you have the option of enjoying some incredible zip-lines, sky trek bridges, canopy tours and hikes through the rain forests. More than a hundred species of mammals, 120 reptiles and amphibians and 2,500 different plants inhabit this renowned wilderness!
Days 7, 8, 9
Today travel out to the Pacific coast. Take an excursion along the shoreline to the 716-acre Manuel Antonio National Park, known for its dense jungle vegetation and abundant wildlife. While here, we will enjoy the surf and the white sand beaches, and enjoy a Catamaran Cruise (optional) to see the incredible marine wildlife (snorkeling included). Students also have the option for additional snorkeling or kayaking along the breath-taking Pacific coastline.
Day 10
Depart for home after ten incredible days!
